Structured Insulated Panels (SIP) Building
On the outside, a structure built with SIPs looks the same as any other, but it has exceptional strength and energy efficiency characteristics. Tests performed by national laboratories substantiates product claims that they have been known to survive hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes and even indoor fires.
The structured insulated panels are usually load-bearing laminates of foam and wood sheathing materials used for building exterior walls, roofs, floors and even foundations in homes and commercial buildings. The panels are shipped from the factory to the building site by truck, and assembled by framing crews. When properly assembled, the resulting home or commercial building provides an extremely strong, well insulated and comfortable building shell.
