Windstorm Response
On Nov. 30 to Dec. 1, 2011, hurricane-force winds swept through the San Gabriel Valley. The winds uprooted thousands of large, mature trees and interrupted the supply of power to 433,945 SCE customers.
After SCE restored power to impacted customers, we immediately started investigating what improvements could be made in future storm responses. In addition to conducting an internal review, we asked for an independent assessment by a third party with expertise in utility industry emergency preparedness and storm response.
