Leatherneck Substation Project
Click on the image above for a detailed map.
Project Leatherneck is an upgrade to the electrical infrastructure at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, which will provide sufficient power for increased permanent party and training requirements. Southern California Edison (SCE) will construct a new substation (Leatherneck) aboard the Combat Center.
In order to connect the new Leatherneck Substation to the SCE grid, SCE will make improvements to the nearby Carodean and Hi Desert substations, which will also provide increased reliability benefits to SCE’s customers in the City of Twentynine Palms and adjacent unincorporated areas.
