March 2011 Rate Changes
Effective March 1, 2011, the Southern California Edison (SCE) rates listed below changed (increased or decreased) as follows:
- The Transmission charge will increase for all rates and will vary by rate schedule.
- The Distribution charge will increase for CARE Domestic Service (D-CARE), Time-of-Use Electric Vehicle (TOU-EV-1), Time-of-Use Pumping and Agricultural Internal Combustion Engine (TOU-PA-ICE) and Renewable (Option R) rates based on tier structure.
- The Conservation Incentive Adjustment charge (CIA) will change for domestic tiered structure rates.
- The Generation charge will increase for Rate Schedule Power - Agricultural and Pumping Connected Load Basis (PA-1) only.
Catalina Gas Rates
SCE filed Advice Letter 172-G to revise SCE’s gas tariffs to reflect an increase in the Santa Catalina Island Gas Cost Adjustment Billing Factors (GCABFs) and the California Alternate Rate for Energy (CARE) Surcharge component of base rates for non-CARE customers.
SCE’s current and revised GCABFs and CARE Surcharge for Catalina Island are listed below:

Overall, the average residential customer’s bill will increase 22%. The actual impact on customer’s bills will vary, depending upon their energy use.
