January 2011 Rate Changes
Effective January 1, 2011, the Southern California Edison (SCE) rates listed below changed (increased or decreased) as follows:
- Rate Schedule Time-of-Use Pumping Agricultural Internal Combustion Engine (TOU-PA-ICE) will increase 1.5%.
- The Transmission Owners’ Tariff Charge Adjustment (TOTCA) will increase for all rates and will vary by rate schedule.
- The Direct Access/Cost Responsibility Surcharge Under-collection Charge (DA/CRS UC) will decrease for all applicable rates.
- The Department of Water Resources (DWR) power charge (generation) will increase for all rates.
- The DWR bond charge will decrease for all rates.
- The California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) surcharge will increase for all rates, for DA and Non-DA customers:
DWR Changes Rate Prior to January 1, 2011 Rate as of January 1, 2011 DWR Power Charge (generation) for all rates 0.03763 0.03952 DWR Bond Charge for all rates 0.00515 0.00505 CARE Changes Rate Prior to January 1, 2011 Rate as of January 1, 2011 CARE Surcharge 0.00305 0.00307 - The Distribution charge will increase or decrease for CARE Domestic Service (D-CARE) based on tier structure.
- The Generation Distribution charges will change for Time-of-Use Domestic Tiered Electric Vehicle (TOU-D-TEV) and TOU-EV-1 to maintain the marginal cost floor pricing in the targeted charging periods.
- The Conservation Incentive Adjustment charge (CIA) will change based on tier structure.
- The State Tax increased from $0.00022/kWh to $0.00029.
Catalina Gas and Water Rates
SCE filed Advice Letter 169-G to revise SCE’s gas tariffs, and Advice Letter 82-W to revise SCE’s water tariffs. These revisions reflect increases and decreases in rates for Santa Catalina Island gas and water customers as follows:
- The gas base rate will increase.
- The CARE surcharge of the gas rate schedule will increase.
- The total Energy component of the gas rate schedule will increase.
- The Customer charge of the gas rate schedule will increase for all pipe sizes.
- The Volumetric (Quantity) component of the water rate schedule will decrease.
- The Service charge of the water rate schedule will decrease.
