Sharing Edison's Knowledge
Edison understands that students who participated in the Edison Challenge will become the energy workforce of tomorrow. In order to better prepare them for future energy careers, the Edison Challenge provided each team with a "science mentor." Science mentors are SCE employees who volunteered their time to helping Edison Challenge teams understand the science, technical and environmental aspects of their projects.
Edison employees who volunteered as science mentors are true subject matter experts whose careers range from engineers to biologists to environmental scientists. Science mentors come from departments across the company, such as Energy Efficiency, Renewables, SCE's California Solar Initiative and our Biological and Archaeological Resources Protection Group, among many others.
Science mentors served as valuable resources for students and are wonderful examples of the future of green careers and Edison's commitment to the environment.
